Cindy - Head Kennel Tech

Kennel Techs

The kennel techs are responsible for the daily care of the pets. They also work at the Front Desk processing adoptions and they answer your calls to the shelter. They will answer questions about pet care and can give you in-depth information about the shelter animals' personalities and temperaments. They can also give you information about local non-profit programs and rescue groups. Stop by the front desk for information about low-cost spay neuter clinics in the Atlanta area or to view the list of Georgia rescue groups!

The staff works with licensed rescue groups to find placements for harder to adopt pets and exotic pets. Please contact the Shelter Manager for information regarding shelter transfer procedures.

Road Officers

Road Officers do a lot of hard work. They pick up dangerous animals like aggressive dogs and rabid wild animals so that they aren't roaming the streets and causing risk to people by biting. Road Officers also pick up lost pets and the shelter tries to reunite them with their owners.

Road Officers also do animal welfare checks. Their goal is to keep the people and pets of Douglas County happy and healthy.
