The West Georgia SPCA is part of a coalition of animal rescues that encourages President Obama to keep his promise of adopting a rescue dog. We were disappointed when the president did not keep his promise, but he can still make it right by adopting a friend for Bo. Please join the Bo Needs A Friend campaign!

The FDA and Nutro have announced a recall of varieties of NUTRO® NATURAL CHOICE® COMPLETE CARE® Dry Cat Foods and NUTRO® MAX® Cat Dry Foods with "Best If Used By Dates" between May 12, 2010 and August 22, 2010, due to high zinc and potassium levels. Click here for the recalled product information.

The West Georgia SPCA has a 'Pets Are Family Too' program. This program helps pet owners who are undergoing financial difficulty due to layoffs, foreclosure or eviction and temporarily cannot afford to care for their pet. We can assist with pet boarding and routine vet care while the pet owner searches for a new residence and/or new job. Assistance with the pet deposit is also available on a case by case basis. Now it is easier than ever to donate your old cellphones to help homeless animals. Click on the Cell Phone Donation link to download a prepaid mailing label. Then just package your cell phone and mail it! The West Georgia SPCA will get paid for each cell phone donated. It's a great way to help animals just by getting rid of cell phones you no longer use. Your cell phone may then be used by the 911 Foundation to provide emergency telephones for people in at risk situations. Donating your old cell phone keeps the environment safe from heavy metals and other pollutants found in electronics so everybody benefits.
